Students in grades 6-8 will embark on a new journey in their education in middle school. The middle school years lay the foundation for success in high school, college, and career. Students will take the skills they learned in elementary school and apply them to more complex and rigorous learning that is increasingly more independent.
Collaboration and group work remain an important part of the middle school curriculum; however, students will conduct more personal research and produce more independent work, particularly in writing and strategic thinking. Students will expand their focus on self-identity to develop a strong sense of community and understand their responsibilities to that community through service and leadership. Students will continue to reflect on their heritage and history to understand the past and to inform their current and future lives.
Students Qur’anic and Arabic studies will continue to progress to more complex and advanced levels. Middle school students will deepen their knowledge and skills in history, geography, English language arts, math, and science. Students will also be introduced to business, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy in addition to other elective courses such as health and theatre arts.
